Before & After
What Can I Expect After Treatment?
San Diego Varicose & Spider Vein Treatment
At San Diego Vascular Center, we specialize in safely and effectively treating patients with varicose and spider veins. The varicose and spider vein treatment procedures we use are performed by highly experienced vascular and general surgeons in a state-of-the-art outpatient facility with minimal risks, minimal pain, and optimal results. While these procedures are very safe, there are some mild side-effects you may experience after treatment.
Some patients experience swelling, bruising, and discomfort for three to ten days after treatment, even as results become apparent. These effects can usually be improved with oral pain medication, including over-the-counter medications, and compression stockings worn following the vein treatment. Our San Diego spider vein and varicose vein treatment specialists encourage patients to walk immediately following any vein treatment. You can resume your normal daily activity, but should avoid any strenuous physical activity for at least four days after your treatment.
Although the treatments we use are highly effective, some patients may find that follow-up procedures may be necessary to obtain optimal aesthetic results. Depending on your unique situation, it may take anywhere from one treatment to three or four treatments to fully remove unwanted varicose or spider veins and achieve the desired results. We also place an emphasis on helping our patients learn about various precautions and preventative measures they can take to minimize the potential of future vascular problems. Methods for vein disease prevention, including proper diet and regular exercise, can preserve vascular health and physical appearance.
